The Golden Blades: Samurai of the Autumn Valley

The Story Set in a fantasy version of feudal Japan in the fictional Autumn Valley. You are The Golden Blades, a tight-knit group of noble samurai who travel across the massive Valley, from village to village, providing aid where it is needed. This can be anything from helping defend a small farming community from raiding bandits, to preventing the collapse of an important bridge during a flash flood, to killing a dangerous beast that’s devouring livestock, to guarding a caravan bringing medicine to a remote mountain village.
You represent no government, and answer to no master, you are a team of skilled and heroic samurai who are a force of light in a dark world of magic, monsters, and villainy. You depend only on each other as you set out on your ongoing quest to travel the land in search of those who need your help. You will hone your skills, help the people of the Valley, fight back against evil, and become legends. Prove yourselves worthy of the title of The Golden Blades!

Style of Play Custom rules of my own design, inspired by the many different roleplaying games and board games I’ve played over the years. The rules are easy-to-learn and make gameplay exciting and fast-paced! Choose from a cast of unique characters to play as, each with their own specific stats, equipment, and abilities. Roleplay, solve puzzles, navigate danger, and engage in thrilling combat against bandits, monsters, and more!

Player Preparation A MICROPHONE IS REQUIRED. We will be using voice chat to communicate, and it is crucial that we can all hear each other. Headphones are encouraged, because they help cut down on feedback and echoing. We will spend the first 30-60 minutes of the first session learning how to play and choosing characters. You will recieve some background information before the first session, but don’t do get ahead of yourself — all final decisions about our characters will be made on the first day. You’ll be choosing from a series of pre-made characters, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. You will all need to register a free account on roll20.net, if you don’t already have one. Everyone will recieve an invitation link to the game in their email on the first day, before we play.
