The Koranii Research Station, crown jewel of the Empire's Dynastic Science Division, had been stationed near the Praetor Void Fields under famed director Menda Koranii to study emergent anomalous phenomena.
Recent reports detail the evacuation of the station after an “increase in Void anomalies unlike any seen before" and a militant branch of the Dynastic Cleanliness Bureau known as "The Custodians" have now been deployed to mop up the situation.
Director Koranii has sent members of her own research team back to the station to extract their research before her discoveries can be exposed.
It's a race between competing divisions of the Imperial Dynasty, each group vying for their own goals and each hoping to crack the secrets of the Void.
Game Day 1: Raiders off the Great Shield
Sat, May 9, ages 8-15, $99
Spring Lake Park Reserve, 8395 127th St, Hastings
With Addison and counselors of the Band of Iron!
For centuries the Great Shield Reef, the Ëanor Il-Zechalal, protected the Northern Isles of A'quilah from invaders. But every shield, in time, is splintered. When A'quilan sails were unfurled to meet the frigates of vicious raider Woldimar Myst-Caller, the pirate summoned a thick fog to hide his ships, and the A'quilan fleet was lost upon the hull-ripping reef. Uncontested, the Myst-Caller swept toward the shore to sack the great sanctuaries!
Join one of Woldimar's competing crews as you race to raid the Sanctuaries of A'quilah and plunder their long-guarded gold and treasures. Crew factions compete against each other and against boss-level counselors representing powerful A'quilan Paladins.
Game Day 2: Bread & Tournaments
Sun, May 17, ages 8-15, $99
Snail Lake Regional Park, 4191 Snail Lake Blvd, Shoreview
With Yana, Franklin, Macy and counselors of the Band of Storms!
For years the idiotic and ridiculous Emir of Kharga wielded power with an iron fist. He provided bloody tournaments for the satisfaction of both nobles and wealthy merchants. The competitions were also designed to entertain (and plague) the common people of Iztan, to terrify them away from insurrection and beguile them with prizes of wealth and societal advancement.
Now it is spring in Iztan and the annual Battles Royale have opened in the capitol of Kharga. Some forced to fight in this violent circus are commoners imprisoned for alleged revolutionary plots. Many are petty criminals and cutthroats from the back streets. A few are young farmers who volunteer for fame and fortune. The featured prize this year is the Reliquary of Khaliz Adhor, rumored every 100 years to grant a wish of dynastic wealth to whomever holds it at sunrise on the summer solstice.
But something larger stirs in the Empire of Iztan this year underneath the bloody games of distraction...
Battle-icious and theatrical, you will create a character and join the tournaments! You are an Iztani gladiator seeking the patronage and support of wealthy lords who will bet on your advantages and earn rewards as you entertain them in various bloody challenges! But the taxes they heap upon you may be arduous! Will you content yourselves with the prizes you are likely to win? Or will you organize a revolt from the battle pits, overthrow the Emir and change the social order forever?
Game of Towns Weekend:
Hamlets of the Bear Hills
Sat & Sun, May 23-24, 11am-4pm, ages 8-16, $249
West Bush Lake Park, 9401 West Bush Lake Rd, Bloomington
Enjoy your stay in the Bear Hills, with Julian & Addison!
Create art and characters, then play for gold as Villagers, Knights or Outlaws in the idyllic country of the Bear Hills: a rich cultural region of Arkoland where Humans and Dwarves have co-existed for at least a millennium. Any trader in any public house in region will experience the results that a thousand years of relative peace has made: a flagon of dwarven korch, melting shanks of soft-braised lamb, and the wild drone of Dwarven draailiers!
And still... the lords with their swords are up to no good, busy making life difficult for all!
Villagers create markets and trade real crafts while collecting resources and hiding stockpiles of gold - armed with nothing but the solidarity of other villagers!
Knights create tower strongholds and protect the villages that provide their lord's wealth - and plunder other knight's strongholds!
Outlaws have been cast into the wild by the villages and are hunted by the lord's brutes. They survive by their own cunning and serve no law but their own!
