Numenera: Magic and Technology

The Story: "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." This quote from Arthur C. Clarke sums up the premise of the Numenera world, which combines science fiction and fantasy. A billion years in the future, civilizations of such wonder have come and gone that the artifacts they have left behind on the Earth are so powerful they might as well be magical. The trees of Roothaven are growing at a prodigious rate, while the Syndicate and Thieves' Guild battle for control. This campaign will continue the story of the previous week, but new players are welcome!

Style of Play: Both I and the Numenera sytsem try to minimize complicated mechanics and repetitive dice rolling and focus on story telling and player decisions. Improvisation and role playing in character are encouraged!

Preparation: None, but feel free to research the Numenera source books, written by Monte Cook.

About the GM: I love reading and writing, and have taught English in Romania, China, France, Peru, and Mexico. I am from Kansas, play the mandolin, and one of my favorite books is Haroun and the Sea of Stories, by Salman Rushdie.
